Includes 21 September Peace Day project from 5 to 50 hours. Each lesson ends with practical advice and ideas for active Citizenship projects. Our vision for Peace Day is a school event led by students with exhibitions, plays, film showings and a unique Peace POD project to form inter-cultural links with other schools.

This resource pack for secondary schools includes a DVD containing a 32-minute classroom version and the feature-length version of the award-winning documentary ‘Peace One Day’, directed, produced and written by UK filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, produced in association with the BBC and Passion Pictures. The Peace One Day film documented and inspired the unanimous adoption by UN member states of the first ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence, 21 September annually. The film features UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, UNHCHR Mary Robinson and many others.

Although this resource pack has been created specifically for the UK National Curriculum, teachers from overseas will certainly find it useful.

"I commend the principles and thinking, and the detailed resources and planning sheets this pack provides. I would be happy to commend its use in schools."
Gavin Craigen, Inspector/Adviser RE, Conway, Denbighshire & Flintshire.
